Kitten Theory and The 18 Hour Rule

Imagine I take a piece of string and lie it down motionless in front of a small kitten. the cat would just look at me like " What the hell do you want me to do with this" but take that piece of string and dangle it just out of reach of the kitten and it will go crazy chasing after it.

Kitten Theory or Cat string theory has its roots in a fundamental marketing idea, the law of scarcity. You turn on the television and see an advertisement for some new overly-hyped work out system. The commercial voice reminds you that “…supplies are limited” and that “…this offer will not last.” This add is employing the use of the law of scarcity to increase the perceived value of that item. Believe it or not, it works for them.

When someone makes themselves overly available to a person they are attracted to, especially in the beginning stages of attraction, this over availability can cause the opposite desired reaction to occur. Someone overly available has lower value than someone not in such abundance. The goal here is to entice the pursuit.

I like to go with the 18 hour rule. 18 hours hot then 18 hours cold. So for the first 18 hours be flirty and let her know your interested but the next 18 you freeze her out. Don't act like a dick, just don't act to interested either. be slow to return her calls, texts, or emails. Make her wonder if she's done something to upset you. Then after she's worked to earn your attention back switch back to hot. Reward her for her effort. Keep doing this back and forth and you'll keep her interest.
